It’s no secret that I am a lover of pink lipsticks. I’m not quite sure exactly how many I own (mostly because I’m too embarrassed to count) but it’s a lot. Like, a lot. I can’t help it, I just love them all! They’re great during the winter to add a pop of color to my all-black-and-gray wardrobe and when it’s warmer out they pair perfectly with more colorful outfits. I love all pink lip colors whether they’re light, mod pinks or more nude shades but I especially love bright pinks. I frequently have people ask for recommendations or about the color I’m wearing so here’s a list of the 7 best bright pink lipsticks that you need to own!
It was harder than I thought it would be to make this list. I have so many colors that I love and I initially tried to make this a list of the top 5 best bright pink lipsticks but it just wasn’t happening. In the end, I picked 7 colors that I reach for again and again. These are no-fuss colors that apply easily, are comfortable to wear, and work for almost any occasion. I chose a range of finishes, formulas, and price points because as much as I love certain brands, I’m not that loyal when it comes to pretty lipstick colors.
My 7 best bright pink lipsticks ended up being Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick in Persian Melon, NARS Lipstick in Schiap, Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lip Color in Vivid Rose, Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Fuchsia, Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lip Color in Fuchsia Flash, Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine in 32 Pink Independent, and NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Yu.
I love how even though all of these are bright pink lip colors, they’re each slightly different, which is the perfect justification for owning them all! Some looks require a slightly warmer pink instead of a cooler shade or sometimes I want a more matte color while other times I want a glossy lipstick.
I couldn’t make a list of the best bright pink lipsticks without including Revlon’s Persian Melon. This is easily one of my favorite lipsticks. I consider it my “everyday bright pink” because it’s not as over the top as some bright shades can be. This is a very wearable medium pink shade that leans a little warm and has a great satin finish that feels really comfortable on my lips. The Moon Drops Lipsticks are retro Revlon shades that come in green tubes and have a very strong powdery lipstick scent. I think the old school lipstick smell is kind of fun but if you’re sensitive to strong scents it might bug you. Fun fact: Persian Melon was originally a light orange shade and the official lipstick for TWA flight attendants (that original shade is now called Blase Apricot and the new Persian Melon is this pretty pink). I really like the Moon Drops formula but it’s getting harder and harder to come by so be sure to pick it up right away!
NARS Schiap is a shocking pink semi matte lipstick named for Elsa Schiaparelli. This is a really fun hot pink and the semi matte finish makes it really pop. This is my “fashion blogger” bright pink lipstick and I wear it when I want bold, statement lips. NARS lipsticks are super un-fussy- they don’t have any gimmicks or crazy hues, they’re just the perfect, easy lipstick and I love the sleek, minimalistic packaging. Schiap applies easily and feels like a creamy lipstick despite the matte finish.
As soon as Maybelline released their Vivids line, I was obsessed. I spent hours analyzing swatches online and quite a bit of time in store narrowing down which colors I had to have. In the end, I bought nearly all of them. They were all so pretty and bright, how could I resist? Vivid Rose was one of the last shades I picked up but it’s one of my favorites. As much as I love super neon pink shades, sometimes I need a deeper color. Vivid Rose is a gorgeous rose shade that’s very wearable and I love the glossy finish. I do have to reapply it several times throughout the day but the color is so pretty that I don’t mind. If you want to try a bright pink lipstick but aren’t ready for full-on hot pink this would be a great one to start with.
I have a few different shades of the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks and I really like the formula so I was super excited when Stacie got me Melted Fuchsia for Christmas. Liquid lipsticks are usually my least favorite type to use because they can be messy and hard to apply but these are actually really easy to use. The squeeze tube makes it easy to control the amount of product I’m using and the sponge tip applicator makes staying inside my lip lines a breeze. Melted Fuchsia is a gorgeous shade that really pops and I love the slightly shiny finish. The color is so intense and it stains my lips so I don’t have to reapply it throughout the day. This is a fairly new color for me but it’s definitely one of the best bright pink lipsticks in my collection.
I had to include another Maybelline Vivids shade on this list. Fuchsia Flash was the first lipstick I purchased from the Vivids line- it caught my eye as soon as I saw it! This is a really fun neon pink shade and the creamy formula makes it comfortable to wear. I love the opaque, intense color and the glossy finish. Fuchsia Flash is definitely a statement shade and I always get comments when I wear it. This is the perfect summer bright pink and the neon color really stands out. If you love bold pink shades, you have to buy this!
YSL’s Rouge Volupte Shines are easily my favorite lipsticks. I love the high-shine finishes and they’re so moisturizing but they last for hours. These feel like I’m wearing a lip balm but with a lot more color and they wear so nicely- they fade evenly throughout the day instead of getting patchy. Plus, the heavy gold cases feel super luxe and just look really pretty. Pink Independent is a cool-toned pink with a blueish hue to it. This is the best bright pink lipstick for when you want a fun color with a sheerer finish, although it does look more opaque in person than in pictures. Pink Independent can be applied lightly for a wash of bright pink or layered for a more intense look. I like to wear it over Stila’s Lush Lips Water Plumping Primer when I really want the color to stand out.
I love the NARS Lip Pencils (see my previous reviews here, here, and here). The pencil packaging is so easy to use and the colors last forever. Yu is my favorite and one of the lipsticks I wear all the time so of course it made my list of best bright pink lipsticks. This is a great bright pink with a glossy finish and the creamy formula doesn’t dry out my lips. Yu is super pigmented and it only takes one coat to get opaque coverage. If you’ve never tried any of the NARS Lip Pencils before, this is totally the one you should start with.
I love all of my 7 best bright pink lipsticks so much and writing this post makes me wish I was wearing one of them right now! Revlon’s Persian Melon is a great everyday bright pink with a fun history and NARS Schiap is the perfect semi matte shocking pink that really pops. Maybelline’s Vivid Rose is a deeper bright pink that’s a nice alternative to hot pinks. The Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Fuchsia is so intense and really easy to use for a liquid lipstick. Maybelline’s Fuchsia Flash is a fun neon pink with a shiny finish and the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine in 32 Pink Independent is a glossy, sheer alternative for when you don’t want to go too crazy. The NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Yu is super pigmented and easy to apply, plus it lasts all day. I consider all of these to be must-haves if you love bright pinks!
