Black is a staple in my wardrobe, which becomes super obvious as soon as the weather gets cooler. I think it’s really easy to throw things together if most of my clothes are in various shades of black and gray, then I can wear them all together or add a pop of color with a bright sweater or shoes. It makes getting dressed really easy in the morning. I also happen to really love all black outfits, they somehow look way cooler than if I were to wear the same pieces in different colors. I think the key is to have a lot of basic pieces that have some kind of interesting detail to keep them from being too boring.
This outfit is pretty simple- a tunic over leggings with a sweater thrown over to keep me warm, but I love how the nice fabrics and details elevate it to a “look” instead of looking like I’m wearing my pajamas. This chiffon tunic has a slight high-low hem and fun button details on the shoulders. I spent quite a bit of time looking for leather leggings that weren’t super shiny and I was so happy when I found these. While leather leggings aren’t the most practical things to own, I think they’re fun to wear when I want a little bit of edge and these ones are much more comfortable than I was expecting. I love the charcoal color and waterfall shape of this cardigan and I like how the thick knit looks with the chiffon and leather.
I finished this look with a bright lip, hat, and booties. NARS’ Schiap lipstick is quickly becoming my favorite “winter bright lip.” It’s just a little darker than my usual neon brights and the matte finish really makes the color pop.
