I used a lot of different beauty products in April. I played around with several of my older eyeshadow palettes and I’m still trying to finish a bunch of partly used foundations. Despite that, I still ended up with three products that really stood out over the course of the month. Two were new to me and one was an older product I love in a brand new scent. My April beauty favorites ended up being the Rimmel You’re the 1 Lipstick in You’re All Mine, the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer, and the Alchemic Muse Foaming Body Scrub in Castaway.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Rimmel lipsticks over the years but I hadn’t tried them for myself until last month. I received the Rimmel You’re the 1 Lipstick in You’re All Mine in my first Statusphere box and I was so excited. By now you should know how much I love pink lipsticks and You’re All Mine is a pretty, neutral berry-pink shade that fits in perfectly with the rest of my collection. It’s a brightened everyday pink that isn’t too in-your-face but still gives me enough color. This lipstick is moisturizing and very comfortable to wear. It isn’t very long-lasting but I can get a few hours out of it before I need to reapply. This shade is so nice, I’ve been wearing it several days a week since I got it.
I love YSL makeup. Their Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks are my absolute favorite and while I haven’t used too many of their other products, everything I have tried has been really nice. I’ve had a sample of their Touche Eclat Blur Primer for awhile but hadn’t gotten around to trying it until last month (I’ve been using up some of my other primer samples instead). The Touche Eclat Blur Primer is designed to blur imperfections and boost skin radiance- it even contains gold sparkles for maximum luminosity without looking glittery. This primer can be worn under foundation or alone but I’ve been mixing it in with my foundation and I love it. Mixing it in helps the foundation spread really well and I love how it makes even thicker foundations look natural instead of cakey.
Alchemic Muse is my favorite indie body care brand so it’s no surprise one of their products made my list of April beauty favorites. I like their Cream Soaps and Body Whips and everything I’ve tried smells amazing. The Foaming Body Scrub is a great, coarse body scrub and cleanser hybrid made with natural sugars and skin conditioning emollients. Castaway is a scent from their summer collection and while it’s not currently available, I’m hoping it comes back soon because it smells so good. It’s a great tropical scent that smells like creamy coconut milk, ripe bananas, and everything else that makes you think of summer and island breezes.
What were your April beauty favorites?
