Gingham print just screams spring and summer to me. Just looking at it makes me think of picnics and sunshine and I can’t think of a better fabric to wear when the weather starts to warm up. I haven’t owned any gingham in a while so I was super excited when I got the chance to try this gingham top from SheIn. It has a really fun shape and the black and white print is so charming, I can already tell I’m going to be wearing this all the time.
I’ve been really into peplums lately and this top fits my obsession perfectly. Since I’m pretty tall, it can be hard for me to find peplums that hit in the right spot but this one is great and it’s not too bulky. Even though this gingham top has an oversized fit the fabric is light enough that is doesn’t poof out or look too bell-shaped.
I definitely recommend checking the measurements before you buy anything from SheIn as the sizing is not always consistent. I buy from them fairly regularly and I’ve purchased anywhere from x-small all the way up to large, just depending on the piece. Their measurements seem to be pretty accurate though, so pay attention to them instead of the actual size and you should be fine. For this top, I considered getting an x-small but went with a small instead so it would fit my shoulders better (I figured I could always take it in everywhere else if it was too big). I’m so happy I went with the bigger size- now it has a slightly oversized fit and it’s so comfortable to wear.
This gingham top even has a fun open back with big bow ties. The back of this is really what convinced me to go with this top. I love the open back and the big bows are so cute plus I love how for an open back top it’s not too revealing. You can always size down with this top too and just tie the back pieces looser.
This black and white gingham top was just begging to be paired with bright pink accessories! You know me, I can’t resist a pop of bright pink and I love how it looks with neutral colors. Plus the bright pink makes this outfit feel a little more spring-y, don’t you think?
Since this gingham peplum top has an oversized fit, I wanted to pair it with sleek bottoms. These black chino shorts from J. Crew Factory are the perfect alternative to denim shorts and I love the slightly longer length. I also think this would look so cute with skinny white jeans but unfortunately I haven’t found any yet that aren’t see-through! Any recommendations?
