I recently got the chance to try a few products from Born Pretty, an online store with tons of inexpensive beauty products. Seriously, there are so many different products to choose from, I had a hard time narrowing down what to get. I love trying different beauty products and Born Pretty’s low prices mean I can test out something a bit different than what I would usually wear without wasting a lot of money. Shipping did take quite a while (about six weeks) and I had honestly forgotten about my order until the package arrived, which made it a nice surprise. In the end, I picked out four products: a whitening hand cream, a moisturizing lipstick, a super lustrous lipstick, and a bb cream.
I have to admit, I chose this Whitening Hand Cream for the packaging alone. You get one of four designs at random and they are all so adorable! I always have some sort of hand cream in my bag but none of them are this cute. This is the perfect size for throwing in a bag and it definitely works as a conversation starter. I really like the texture of this hand cream. It’s super thick and coats my hands well without leaving them feeling greasy. This hand cream is unscented which is great because it doesn’t compete with any perfume I’m wearing. I would definitely get this again, but I’d be sure to order extras to give out as gifts.
Lipstick is easily my favorite makeup product, so of course I had to try some new ones from Born Pretty. The first one I picked out was the Mixiu Hydra Essence Lipstick in 06. This is a dark berry color with a slippery, glossy finish. The packaging is a bit difficult to use (the lid covers most of the tube except for a tiny slot where you slide the lipstick out) but the color payoff is pretty intense.
I love how glossy this lipstick is and the color is beautiful. This lipstick transfers a lot but it was very comfortable to wear and I loved the finish. Just be prepared to reapply it throughout the day!
I also picked up By Nanda’s Extremely Charming Moist Lipstick in 12. This is a pretty baby pink shade and the top of the lipstick is shaped like a jewel. It’s slightly smaller than most lipsticks which I thought made it easy to use.
Shade 12 is a cute mod pink color. Baby pink lipsticks can be a little difficult to pull off but I like that this one isn’t as light or blue-based as a lot of them. This lipstick was pretty opaque and was easy to apply.
I like how this has a slight pearly finish to it. It was just a little shimmery and really pretty in person. I liked this color on its own but I think it would be really pretty layered over darker pinks and berries.
My final product was Macely’s Good Afternoon Rose Lemon Tea BB Cream. I love bb creams so I’m always looking for new brands to try and this one sounded really interesting. There are three different “flavors” to choose from and I went with Rose Lemon Tea which is supposed to brighten and moisturize skin.
I’m pretty fair but this bb cream was just a little too light for me. I’ve been mixing it with some foundations that are a little too dark (I’m currently mixing it with L’Oreal’s True Match) and it creates the most beautiful finish. My skin looks dewy and has a great lit-from-within glow. I really like this bb cream but prepare to mix it with something darker unless you’re very fair.
I’m really happy with the products I received from Born Pretty. Although the shipping was very slow, the prices are great and the quality of the products is good. I love the cute packaging on this hand cream. The berry lipstick is so pretty and I love the high gloss finish. I also really like the pearly finish on the baby pink lipstick, it makes it so different than most light pink shades. The bb cream is really nice, I just wish it was a little darker!
