Highlighters are one of those products that I don’t use every day but when I do I notice a big difference in my look. I tend to skip it when I run out of time but I love how a few carefully placed swipes of highlighter can add such a pretty glow. I really like to mix liquid highlighters into my foundation for a lit-from-within glow but when I want a more noticeable highlight, I always go for powders. I recently picked up the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Highlighter in Stunner as part of a Sephora promo and I’m so glad I did. It’s definitely a little flashier than most of the highlighters I’ve used but I’m having a lot of fun with it.
Does your skincare make you feel fancy?
I am definitely addicted to fancy beauty products. I like to be spoiled and pampered, especially when it comes to skincare, so if you tell me a product has a luxurious ingredient in it, I can’t wait to try it. D’OR 24K is a high-end skincare brand that uses real 24 karat gold in their products which not only makes me anxious to try them out, but it also does some really great things for your skin. Gold is an anti-inflammatory antioxidant that helps with circulation and reduces wrinkles and fine lines. When combined with other great ingredients, it makes your skin look fresher and younger. I recently got the chance to try the D’OR 24K Facial Peel and Multi-Vitamin Recovery Day Cream. Would they live up to my expectations?
I am big into skincare. I love creamy cleansers and super hydrating moisturizers but my absolute favorite skincare products are masks. They target specific skincare concerns and they work so quickly and can make a big difference in how my skin looks. That’s why I was so excited to try the VIICode Oxygen Eye Mask for dark circles. I don’t have very dark circles but if I have to get up early or don’t get enough sleep, my eyes can definitely look dark and puffy. The VIICode Oxygen Eye Mask is designed to target dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and bags to give your skin a more youthful look.
Every now and then I end up with a bunch of beauty products that just don’t quite work for me. Whether they are samples I’ve received or items I’ve purchased that aren’t my favorite, it’s hard for me to throw them out. I prefer to find ways to make them wearable, even if it involves a little extra effort on my part. I like to turn it into a challenge- how quickly can I use up a bunch of products that I don’t really like? Lately I’ve been on one of those kicks and I’ve been trying to destash a bit and get rid of some things. My March Beauty Favorites were all super helpful in turning some not-so-great products into things that I actually like to wear. This month, I’ve been using a lot of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Smokeout, the Benefit They’re Real Remover, and The Face Shop’s Lovely Me:Ex Make Up Base in Violet.
Want amazing hair like Kendall Jenner?
My hair always needs a little extra help in March. Winter can definitely wreak havoc on my hair and by March it just can’t take it anymore. My hair starts to feel super dry and brittle and it tends to be full of static. This is usually the time of year that I break out all of my deep conditioners and cut off a few inches of my hair to make it feel healthy again. I recently got to try the Finesse Restore + Strengthen Moisturizing Collection and the opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time. This is the collection that Kendall Jenner swears by to keep her locks looking thick and healthy (she apparently learned about it from Kim). Would it work just as well on my dry, damaged winter hair?
Do you TLSP?
The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, or TLSP, is a great multi-purpose powder. Not only does it help set makeup, but it also keeps skin from looking oily as the day wears on. This award-winning powder now comes in two shades: Translucent (the shade I tried) and Translucent Medium Deep for darker skin tones. I usually don’t use setting powder but after trying this I can see why I should- it definitely made a big difference in how my makeup looked and how it wore throughout the day.
