I have a confession to make- I’m pretty lazy when it comes to my hair. Most days I brush it once in the morning and call it a day. If I’m feeling particularly fancy I’ll curl it with a curling wand or add a couple of braids. But for the most part, I don’t do much to it. In fact, I have a box of complicated hair styling products that never get any use. Still, I love trying new shampoos and conditioners and I love a good hair serum or oil. I was so excited when Influenster sent me a box with the L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil Collection. I tried L’Oreal’s Ultimate Straight Collection last year and loved it so I was super happy to try their latest products. I received the entire collection, which includes the L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo, Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Conditioner, and Extraordinary Oil Lustrous Oil Serum.
Last month I got to try the HASK Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Collection and I loved it so much that I was thrilled when HASK asked me to review more of their products. The HASK Mint Almond Oil Thickening Collection contains three different products designed to create thick, voluminous hair using mint almond oil. The HASK Mint Almond Oil contains omega fatty acids, Vitamin E, and magnesium which increase volume while adding shine to hair. Peppermint oil helps stimulate the hair and scalp. I got to try the entire HASK Mint Almond Oil Collection- their thickening shampoo, thickening conditioner, and root thickening spray.
Similar to my January favorites, my February beauty favorites were less about color and more about maintenance. February was pretty warm for us but my skin and hair is still feeling the effects of winter (and my hair had a mini flip out after I tried some new products that left it super dry). I ended up spending most of the month trying to get my hair back to its normal healthy state and fighting winter’s drying effects on my skin and hair. My February beauty favorites ended up being the Blax Snag-Free Hair Elastics, the HASK Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shine Hair Oil, and the Julep Sugar Smooch Lip Scrub.
I’m pretty lazy when it comes to my hair. I only get it cut once or twice a year and most days all I do is brush it and call it a day. I still want my hair to look good though, so I tend to rely on products that keep it healthy. My hair is long and thick so I don’t like to spend a lot on shampoo and conditioner because I go through it so fast (and I have to admit a lot of the expensive stuff just doesn’t work for me). But, I still can’t totally cheap out if I want to get enough nice ingredients to keep my hair healthy. I recently got the chance to try the HASK Coconut Oil Nourishing Hair Collection which sounded like just the thing I was looking for.
My November beauty favorites signify a pretty significant change to my routine from previous months. Now that the weather is finally getting cooler, my beauty routine has changed quite a bit. Unlike the warmer months where I was all about playing around with new makeup shades, right now I’m focusing on keeping my look simple. I’m all about berry shades for makeup and nails and I’ve been craving scents that smell warmer and a little spicy. I’ve also been using everything I can to combat hair static caused by heaters and sweaters. My November beauty favorites were Essie’s Recessionista, Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, and Josie Maran’s Argan Oil.
A couple of weeks ago, Influenster sent me some hair products to try from the new L’Oreal Ultimate Straight collection. I had just run out of shampoo and conditioner so it was perfect timing for me! The Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight line is designed to give you super straight, sleek hair. The products are formulated with Kera-Tourmaline which relaxes hair strands and replenishes keratin for stronger, less damaged hair. These products work with heat to give you the ultimate blowout for up to 48 hours. I received all four products in the line: the shampoo, pre-conditioner, conditioner, and perfecting balm.
