I have so much fun with skincare. Masks, serums, creams- I love the process of applying them and really taking care of my skin. I love having mini spa nights and seeing how different products make a big difference in my skin. I hate to say it, but pretty much all of my pampering involves my face. Skincare for hands is definitely something I need to work on, especially since no matter how great and young my face looks, if my hands look rough I won’t be fooling anyone. I recently got the chance to try the Exuviance Age Reverse Hand Rejuvenator– a two-piece set that works to diminish signs of aging on hands. I was pretty excited since a hand peel is much for fun to use than just a normal hand cream. Who knows, it might even get me interested in taking care of my hands.
I have to admit, I’ve never been a fan of dry shampoo. I love the idea (who wouldn’t want to extend their hairstyle?) but I’ve never found one that I liked. They always seem to have an overbearing, artificial scent and for a product that’s supposed to make my hair look cleaner, I’ve always found it to be the opposite. I was a bit hesitant to try the HASK Dry Shampoo but I’ve had so much luck with HASK’s hair products in the past that I decided to try it. I’m so happy I did because this has completely changed my opinion of dry shampoos.
I used a lot of different beauty products in April. I played around with several of my older eyeshadow palettes and I’m still trying to finish a bunch of partly used foundations. Despite that, I still ended up with three products that really stood out over the course of the month. Two were new to me and one was an older product I love in a brand new scent. My April beauty favorites ended up being the Rimmel You’re the 1 Lipstick in You’re All Mine, the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer, and the Alchemic Muse Foaming Body Scrub in Castaway.
HASK recently released a new collection and I couldn’t wait to try it. HASK has quickly become one of my favorite hair brands and I love trying all of the different varieties they offer. The new HASK Exotic Oil line contains three different collections, all catered to specific hair types. The HASK Coconut Milk and Organic Honey Curl Care Collection focuses on creating defined curls while the Blue Chamomile and Argan Oil Blonde Care Collection neutralizes brassiness in blonde hair. I got to try the HASK Orchid and White Truffle Moisture Rich Collection which rehydrates and adds shine to dry hair.
By now, you probably know how much I love trying different skincare products. I have a few products that I love and use regularly but even when something is a HG item for me, I still love experimenting with new things. I love the whole process of using skincare- it’s nice to take a few minutes out of every day to feel like I’m doing something good for my skin. And the process of applying different masks, serums, and moisturizers is very relaxing for me. So, as you can expect, I was so excited to try the new Jan Marini Hyla3D HA Activating Complex.
I have mixed feelings about subscription boxes. I love the idea of trying new products and it’s so fun to get a surprise package in the mail every month but I feel like with most boxes I end up wishing I had just spent the money on something I actually wanted instead. Play! by Sephora is a little different though. When it was first announced I added myself to the waitlist but was never able to get off of it until now. I buy most of my makeup from Sephora and I love their deluxe samples and promo codes so I figured I’d be pretty happy with whatever I got in my box. For $10 a month (plus a little tax if you live in a state with a Sephora store), you get five deluxe samples and a fragrance sample, all in a cute little makeup bag. And the $10 gives you Beauty Insider points and counts towards your dollars spent each year, meaning it’s easier to become a VIB or VIB Rouge. The Play! by Sephora April box was my first order, and I was so excited to see what was inside.
