Our third day in Paris was a little slow to start after our extremely long and tiring second day. We had a pretty full day planned for this day as well but ended up skipping a couple of spots on our list. It was the best thing we could have done. We still ended up seeing quite a bit and wearing ourselves out again but we did manage to sit, people watch, and take in the city at a more relaxed pace. And we’ll just have to go back to see what we missed!
Every now and then, you find the perfect dress. Something that you never get sick of, something that is always fun to wear, and something that works for almost any occasion. This periwinkle dress checks all the boxes for me. It’s several years old but I still love to wear it and it’s one of the easiest pieces in my closet. All I have to do is throw it on and go, but I still love adding fun accessories so it doesn’t look like the same outfit every time. It’s perfect for work but the light fabric is also great for parties or as a dressier look while traveling. What could be better than that?
This post could also be called Paris, Day Two: The Longest Day Ever or Paris, Day Two: Don’t Try This At Home. We planned pretty full days for our trip but we ended up doing a lot more walking on this day than we originally thought we would. And it was exhausting! I read some travel forums before we left and everyone said not to do everything during your first visit because you’ll always go back. I wish we had listened. This was such a fun day and we saw a lot of the city but we completely wore ourselves out! The rest of the week was pretty rough. It was actually pretty funny looking at our pictures from the trip- as the days went on we looked more and more tired and our posture got worse and worse, like we were too exhausted to even stand up straight!
What could be better than a spur of the moment trip to Paris? I have always wanted to go to Paris. Growing up, it seemed like such a beautiful city full of glamorous people doing glamorous things. I couldn’t imagine a place much more different than the Phoenix desert. I watched all of the French movies (A Very Long Engagement is one of my favorite movies ever), listened to French music, and took French classes in high school and college. But I never visited! C’est la vie.
Fast forward to this spring. G and I had some vacation time at the end of April and we originally planned on going to London. We had the perfect itinerary planned and were so excited… until the flights filled up! So naturally our only option was to go to Paris instead (quelle horreur!). It was a little crazy- I only had a few days to plan the trip and we ended up booking an Airbnb while sitting on the plane! But we made it and spent five amazing days in the City of Lights.
I’ll admit, I have a lot of clothes. I can’t help it, I just love fashion and finding new things to wear. I love trying fun new trends but for the most part, I gravitate toward simpler pieces that can be worn in a lot of different ways. One of my favorite things to buy are little black dresses, especially little black t-shirt dresses. I love their versatility and how comfy they are! They’re so easy to dress up or down and they seem to work for almost every occasion. I’ve got quite a few already and my latest find is this tiered version that even has pockets. It’s been on constant rotation in my closet and I thought it would make a fun post if I showed you some of the different ways I’ve been wearing it. So here it is: one dress, three ways.
I have been loving the warm weather lately! It’s been so nice and I love how bright green our neighborhood is. It’s been perfect for walking around and looking at the new blooms everywhere. I’ve been wearing a lot of light layers and simple sweaters with shorts like with this outfit. There’s something so nice about a light, soft sweater with shorts and fancy sneakers, don’t you think?
