Paris, Day Two: Montmartre and Champs-Élysées

7 paris day two cafeThis post could also be called Paris, Day Two: The Longest Day Ever or Paris, Day Two: Don’t Try This At Home. We planned pretty full days for our trip but we ended up doing a lot more walking on this day than we originally thought we would. And it was exhausting! I read some travel forums before we left and everyone said not to do everything during your first visit because you’ll always go back. I wish we had listened. This was such a fun day and we saw a lot of the city but we completely wore ourselves out! The rest of the week was pretty rough. It was actually pretty funny looking at our pictures from the trip- as the days went on we looked more and more tired and our posture got worse and worse, like we were too exhausted to even stand up straight!

Paris, Day One: The Eiffel Tower

12 paris day one trocadero and eiffel towerWhat could be better than a spur of the moment trip to Paris? I have always wanted to go to Paris. Growing up, it seemed like such a beautiful city full of glamorous people doing glamorous things. I couldn’t imagine a place much more different than the Phoenix desert. I watched all of the French movies (A Very Long Engagement is one of my favorite movies ever), listened to French music, and took French classes in high school and college. But I never visited! C’est la vie.

Fast forward to this spring. G and I had some vacation time at the end of April and we originally planned on going to London. We had the perfect itinerary planned and were so excited… until the flights filled up! So naturally our only option was to go to Paris instead (quelle horreur!). It was a little crazy- I only had a few days to plan the trip and we ended up booking an Airbnb while sitting on the plane! But we made it and spent five amazing days in the City of Lights.

Nashville Murals with thredUP

thredUP Kate Spade City lights Lilith Skirt and J Crew Factory Embroidered TeeI just got back from visiting Stacie in Nashville and we had so much fun! I was there for a week and our days were jam-packed but it still feels like I need to go back soon because there were so many other things we didn’t get to do! Nashville is pretty easy to visit because it’s so small so it’s super easy to get around. I swear, every time we went anywhere it only took about 15 minutes. We circled the city a few times each day and ate a ridiculous amount of food. I also loved looking at all of the colorful murals around the city and I couldn’t resist using them to showcase some of my new clothes from thredUP, an online consignment shop. You’ll hear a lot more about my trip over the next few weeks, so keep checking back!

RAN Travel Box

RAN Travel BoxA couple of months ago, I was selected to receive a RAN Bonus Box from Rakuten Affiliate Network, the company we use for our affiliate links. The box was so fun to get and I received so many amazing products and discovered a lot of great new brands. When they announced their travel-themed RAN Bonus Box, I couldn’t wait to get it. Stacie and I travel a lot and we both have some pretty big trips planned for this year. I was so excited to see what Rakuten and their partners had in store for us and I was looking forward to developing relationships with more brands. I was not disappointed when I opened my RAN Travel Box. It was packed with goodies from some amazing brands and everything was perfect for the travel theme.

Our Hawaiian Vacation

mauiG and I just got back from a few days in Hawaii and we had so much fun! Typically our trips consist of a few days in a big city and we spend our entire time running around to see the sights. By the time our trip is over, we are completely exhausted. This was quite a bit different though. We crammed a lot of things into our trip but it was a lot more relaxing than usual. It was a great change of pace and what’s better in December as the weather starts to really cool down than a Hawaiian vacation?

48 Hours in Seattle

Public_MarketA few weeks ago, G and I had a couple days off together so we decided to take a trip. We weren’t really sure where we wanted to go but we thought it would be fun to visit a city we had never been to before. We decided on Seattle. We were able to fly in on a Thursday morning and left Friday evening. I was surprised with how much we were able to do with only 48 hours in Seattle! Our days were jam-packed but not totally exhausting and we were able to do everything we wanted.
