My roommate and I had a beginning of summer barbecue to celebrate Memorial Day a few months back. It was a great chance to try out our brand new grill and have a few people over for a casual dinner party. My roommate took charge of the main course, burgers, while friends helped with the sides, roasted Brussels sprouts and watermelon feta salad, and I made the dessert.
I browsed through the dessert recipes on Cupcakes and Cashmere and decided I would attempt a chocolate tart for the first time! I used this recipe, which was super easy to follow. I modified the recipe and used a pre-made graham cracker pie crust instead of making my own, just to save a little time. The pre-made crust worked just fine and the amount of the filling was perfect. I served the tart with plain raspberries and whip cream on top. The tart was super chocolatey…so if you aren’t a big chocolate fan this dessert definitely isn’t for you. I really like sweets so I thought this tart had the perfect balance of sweetness and richness from the chocolate balanced out with the graham cracker crust. I will definitely be making this again!
