I’ve always loved the idea of a signature scent, something that suits me well and a fragrance that others can associate with me. But there are so many nice perfumes out there, it’s hard to stick with just one! Although I did strictly use Fantasy by Britney Spears for quite a few years (I still love it during the summer), now I tend to buy lots of different perfumes in the same scent family. I’ve found that I’m mostly drawn to sweet, vanilla-based scents and I hate anything floral. I like spicier vanillas during the winter and fruitier vanillas for summer. I recently discovered Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot and it is perfect for warm weather.
Vanille Abricot (or vanilla apricot) has been around since 1992 and it’s Comptoir Sud Pacifique’s best seller. The brand focuses on fragrances that are inspired by the South Pacific and make you think of faraway lands.
Vanille Abricot is a very sweet, fruity vanilla fragrance but it’s not cloying. It contains top notes of jackfruit, apricot, and papaya and base notes of vanilla and sugar candy. I love this blend of apricot and vanilla. It is sweet and fruity and makes me think of a tropical vacation. This is a great summer fragrance that makes me want to go to the beach! Although I love sweet scents, this is much sweeter than most perfumes I own. It is very light and doesn’t have any musk or heaviness to it. Vanille Abricot isn’t sickeningly sweet but it could easily become too much if you wear it too often. I really enjoy this scent but I also like smelling like candy and baked goods. This is light enough to layer with other perfumes if I want to add a little more depth to it.
I purchased the rollerball to try. It looks small compared to my other rollerballs, but at 0.33 oz it contains the same amount of perfume. The smaller size would be easier to travel with. Vanille Abricot isn’t as strong as most perfumes but it does last awhile on me. I think if it was too strong it would be overbearing. This is a perfect light scent that only you will smell.
The rollerball also comes with a metal instead of plastic tip. I think this is nicer than most rollerballs because it doesn’t stick. Plus, the cool metal feels nice during warmer weather. I’m really happy I picked up Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot. It’s a lovely summer fragrance that is sweet and fruity but also really light. Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot is $20 to $85 here.
