This post is just a little late but I wanted to write about my December beauty favorites. December was an eclectic makeup month for me. I wore a lot of light, dewy makeup at the beginning of the month when we were on vacation and toward the end of the month I was all about glitter and shine for the holidays. I went through a lot of bright bold lip colors and I’ve been using up a lot of makeup and skincare samples instead of just sticking with my usual products. At the end of the month, three products really stood out to me: Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen, Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Junkie, and Urban Decay’s Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette.
When we went to Maui last month, we made sure to pack plenty of sunscreen. I was determined not to get a sunburn like all the other tourists we saw on the trip. Since I’m pretty fair, I need to wear sunscreen with a high SPF and reapply it very often (about once an hour or so seems to be sufficient). I hate how greasy and thick a lot of sunscreens are but I really like Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen. It’s moisturizing but absorbs quickly and it leaves a matte feel- there’s no greasy residue with this sunscreen. The best part? No sunburns for us, even though we were outside for most of the week.
Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Junkie is one of my favorite eyeliner shades and December seemed like the perfect time to wear it. This is a gorgeous deep green shade that leans just a little blue and has gold glitter in it. It’s a super versatile color that I like to wear with both neutral eyeshadows and more colorful ones. The deep green complements my brown eyes really well and I love the gold shimmer in this liner. Urban Decay’s Eye Pencils are some of my favorite eyeliners, they glide on so easily and last all day for me.
My final beauty favorite was Urban Decay’s Naked3 Palette. The original Naked Palette was the first neutral palette I ever purchased and I loved it so much that when they released Naked3 with it’s pretty rose shades, I bought it right away. People seem to be on the fence with this palette- they either love the colors or think they are all too similar. I agree with both sides of the argument. The colors are all similar enough that none of them really stand out to me as favorites but I love this palette. It is perfect for creating really pretty neutral looks that are great for everyday. During December I wore a lot of neutral looks and then used either Buzz or Trick with a wet brush to add a lot of shine and a bit of a metallic look. It was perfect for the holidays.
My December beauty favorites were a bit of a mix of old products that I already love and found myself consistently using throughout the month. Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen has a great formula that protects my skin but doesn’t leave a greasy residue. Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Junkie is a pretty deep green with shimmer that made it perfect for holiday looks. Urban Decay’s Naked3 Palette helped me create natural looks with enough shine for fun party looks.
