My June beauty favorites were all makeup, a departure from the last several months that included a lot of skincare. I’m trialing a few new skincare products but I haven’t tried them enough for them to qualify as favorites yet. Instead, I’ve been playing around with my makeup. I’ve been using a lot of different products but I still settled on three that I loved all month long: Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil, Tarte Dollface, and the Urban Decay Glinda Palette.
All three are products I’ve had for awhile. I use them each pretty regularly but during June they were in constant rotation. A lot of times my monthly favorites are products I’ve used a lot that month but not necessarily at the same time. However, my June favorites all went together really well and I found myself wearing them on the same days pretty much all month long.
First is the Soleil Matte Bronzer from Too Faced, in the shade Milk Chocolate. I’m not a big bronzer fan because I find most of them to be too dark and orangey on me. Usually I just feel like they make my face look dirty and covered in glitter. Milk Chocolate Soleil is different. It’s a very light shade and it’s easy to apply. This is a nice light brown color, not at all orange. It gives me just a hint of a tanned look and it’s matte so it looks very natural. Plus, it uses real cocoa powder so it actually smells like chocolate! Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil is $30 here.
Next is a classic blush shade, Tarte’s Dollface. Dollface is a really pretty light pink that brightens my face. This baby pink adds a great pop of color without being too dark. I really like pastel pink blushes during winter and spring and this blush definitely fits the bill. It pairs so well with softer eye looks and pink lips. Even though it’s a light color, it’s pretty pigmented so I only need a little bit each time. I have a deluxe sample size and it seems to last forever! The full size Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface is $26 here.
My third favorite product for June is an older Urban Decay eye shadow palette, the Glinda Palette. I wanted this palette for awhile and when I finally got it, I was a little unsure of how to use it. Even the darker colors were a little softer than I was expecting and it was hard for me to come up with color combinations to use. I kept forcing myself to use it and the more I did, the more I liked it. Last month I mostly wore the peachy shade all over my lid with the pink in the middle of my lid. I then finished with either the purple or gray in the crease and sometimes even blended the two. The Glinda Palette was a limited edition that is no longer available but you can get two of the shades (Aura and South) for $18 each here.
