Last week I attended a blogger event for a new store opening. Lizard Thicket, a cute boutique specializing in affordable, fashion-forward clothing and accessories, just opened a new store in Mesa, Arizona’s Dana Park shopping center. Dana Park is pretty close to where I live and I like the shopping center (it has the closest Anthropologie to me) so I was really excited for this event. Plus, it was my first blogger event (I feel like I’m moving up in the world!).
Lizard Thicket started in 1981 and mostly has stores in Georgia and Tennessee. The stores are franchised and they focus a lot on philanthropy. Each location picks a charity to work with and holds events benefiting that charity every year. At the event we were able to meet Barb, the owner of this new location. It was fun to see her excitement for the store and hear her goals, and I really liked how she was excited to mentor and empower her employees.
The store itself was really cute. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be and the decor was very relaxing and easy-going. Lizard Thicket definitely had a fun vibe which made for a very comfortable shopping experience.
The clothes were also really great. Everything was light and breezy, and all of the knits were so soft. Seriously, I always touch everything while I’m shopping and everything felt so luxe. Pretty much every piece I looked at was between $20 and $40, but they felt a lot more expensive. There were a lot of interesting patterns and lots of fun colors.
There were also a lot of neutral and solid pieces as well, so everyone should be able to find something they like here. I saw a lot of basics with interesting details and wonderful fabrics. There were a lot of split and sharkbite hems, twists, quilted straps, and interesting seams.
Lizard Thicket also carries jewelry and a few home goods. These Park Hill candles were really cute with the twine and brown paper packaging, and I also saw some Capri Blue candles that smelled amazing.
I really liked the For Keeps line of jewelry and ended up purchasing the Arrow Necklace. I love how tiny it is and the rose gold color will look so nice layered with my yellow gold necklaces.
I received a fun goodie bag for attending the event. The Dark Brown Cami is part of Lizard Thicket’s LT Basics line. It’s perfect for layering and feels really nice.
We each also got to pick an envelope with a freebie inside. Some of them were specific (a Capri Blue candle, a piece of Bourbon and Boweties jewelry) but mine was pretty general- any top in the store. There were quite a few that caught my eye but one of the other bloggers suggested I pick something I wouldn’t normally buy for myself.
This Lela Sky top had several details that I liked- it was light with an easy fit, it was gray, it had stripes, but the exaggerated sharkbite hem and navy tie-dye are two things that would usually have made me pass on it. I’m glad I took the advice and got it anyway. It’s so soft and the oversize fit is actually very flattering. It’s the perfect throw-on-and-go top and the navy pairs well with denim. Unfortunately, it’s not on the Lizard Thicket website yet but it is in store.
And now, for the best part of this event? I have a giveaway! Barb was nice enough to give me a $25 to share with one of you and I’m also including the pair of pearl earrings I received at the event. This giveaway is open to those 18 and older. Must be a resident of the US. Void where prohibited. Winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize after I have emailed them. If there is no response after 48 hours, another winner will be chosen. Good luck!
