As soon as fall rolls around, I start wearing berry nail polish. And it doesn’t matter how many “perfect” berry polishes I have, I always find myself buying more. Berry is such a great fall shade and nail polish is a really easy way of wearing the color. I recently found the OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not on sale at Ulta (I was just window shopping, I swear), and, since I was jealous that Stacie was in Paris and possibly at the Louvre at that exact moment, I decided to try it out. I wanted to pair it with Julep’s Betty because in my mind the only way to make a berry mani better is to add glitter.
OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not is a pretty dark reddish-purple color with just a hint of shimmer. The shimmer isn’t very noticeable in person but as you can see above, it flashes blue in the light, making the whole color seem more cool-toned than it is. The first and third pictures in the post are more accurate swatches to what it looks like in person. Louvre Me Louvre Me Not has great coverage with two coats and had a nice wear time. I liked this polish on a lot more than I thought I would, and I’m really happy I got it. It’s a good berry color without being too dark or vampy.
Julep’s Betty is part of their Birthstone Collection (I wrote about September’s birthstone polish here). Betty is a garnet color for January’s birthstone. It consists of red and purple glitter in a reddish purple jelly base. Betty is a perfect example of Julep’s wonderful full-coverage glitters. It only took two coats to get complete coverage, although I probably could have layered one coat over Louvre Me Louvre Me Not and gotten the same effect. I absolutely loved the two colors together. I was on the fence about getting Betty because I thought it would be too red, but paired with Louvre Me Louvre Me Not it looks more purple. This was a fun combination for me and I think I’ll be wearing these two polishes together a lot. OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not is currently on sale at Ulta for $2.39 (regularly $9.50). Julep Betty is $14/11.20 Maven here. Julep’s other birthstone polishes are here.
