My October beauty favorites all revolved around a new palette that I’m obsessed with. I change my makeup everyday and I almost never wear the same look two days in a row. Usually I’m all over the place- a neutral eye and bold lip one day, a pink eye look with neutral lips the next, and lots of brights the day after that. It’s hard finding a product I use more than a few times a week. Then I got this eyeshadow palette and it’s all I’ve been wearing this month. My picks this month are Urban Decay’s Urban Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette, Eco Tools’ Bamboo Deluxe Concealer Brush, and Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.
I had to have Urban Decay’s Urban Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette as soon as I saw pictures (see my full review of the palette here). I love all fifteen shades in this palette and I love the range of colors. The formulas are great and I really like how cohesive this palette is. When this was originally announced, it was supposed to be released on urbandecay.com on October 20th. About a month prior, Sephora held a one-week preview sale for VIBs and VIB Rouges and that’s when I was able to purchase it. October 20th came and went with no sign of the palette and now the rumors are that it will be a Sephora exclusive and released next spring. It seems like Urban Decay really dropped the ball with this. Who knows what’s really going on with it but if you can find it, buy it! This palette is gorgeous and there are so many color combinations to try!
A great palette is no good without a nice brush to use with it. This Eco Tools Bamboo Deluxe Concealer Brush is perfect. Although it’s designed for concealer, I’ve found it is perfect for eyeshadow. The brush is super soft (easily the softest brush I own) but it’s also very fluffy and the tapered shape works well for applying shadows. It picks up just the right amount of product and it’s easy to switch from color to color without muddying the bristles. Think of this as an eyeshadow brush and blender brush all in one.
Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Black is one of my favorites. It’s opaque and super dark and the pen applicator makes it almost foolproof. I usually stick to colored pencil eyeliners but this black liner looks so nice next to the bolder colors in Urban Spectrum. It really does last all day without budging and I love how easy it is to apply.
My October beauty favorites all revolved around my new Urban Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette. I’m so excited about it and I love coming up with different colors to wear together. The Eco Tools Bamboo Deluxe Concealer Brush makes applying the shadows a breeze, even if that’s not technically what it was designed for. Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Black goes so well with the palette. I can create intense eye looks and top them off with a crisp black liner. I’ve been loving the combination and I can’t wait to see what my favorites will be next month!
