I’ll admit, I have a lot of clothes. I can’t help it, I just love fashion and finding new things to wear. I love trying fun new trends but for the most part, I gravitate toward simpler pieces that can be worn in a lot of different ways. One of my favorite things to buy are little black dresses, especially little black t-shirt dresses. I love their versatility and how comfy they are! They’re so easy to dress up or down and they seem to work for almost every occasion. I’ve got quite a few already and my latest find is this tiered version that even has pockets. It’s been on constant rotation in my closet and I thought it would make a fun post if I showed you some of the different ways I’ve been wearing it. So here it is: one dress, three ways.
This first look is what I call my “running errands” outfit. This is an outfit that can be wore for running around town or in a casual setting. I picked up this denim jacket a couple of months ago and I love finding new things to wear it with. I love pairing it with dresses for a more dressed down look and I think it looks super cute with just about anything. It’s a great layering piece and I love how the denim looks with this black dress.
I always love a good statement necklace and lately I’ve been drawn to big tassel necklaces. They have a fun, summery feel to them and instantly make any outfit look more put together. I love the black and gold combo of this one and although I just got it, I can tell I’ll be wearing it a lot!
I got the chance to try several pairs of shoes including these penny loafers from JENN ARDOR and I’m so glad I did! I have a serious weakness for shoes and although I was initially a little wary of these (the prices seemed too good to be true!), I was really happy when I got them! Everything fit perfectly and the quality is really nice- they definitely seem more expensive than they are. These black suede loafers are really cute and I love the fringe and bows on them. And they are so comfy! They have a lot of cushion and almost feel like wearing slippers around.
I finished off this look with a big leather tote for carrying everything and another new favorite of mine- this L’Oreal lipstick. It’s a pretty mauve-y pink and although it has a matte finish, it feels really creamy. It’s the perfect everyday shade in my book.
Next up is my “brunch with the girls” outfit. I love wearing black year-round but when it’s 110 degrees out, it doesn’t quite feel summer-appropriate. In those cases, I like adding lots of bright touches to my outfit. Pink is such a fun color to wear and I own a lot of it, plus I love how it looks with black so that’s usually what I end up going with.
This neon pink cardigan from J. Crew is one of my favorites. It is seriously so bright that it makes any outfit instantly look cheery and fun. I also added this fun pink clutch that I got as a gwp from Ulta. How cute is it? I think the cutouts and tassel are really cute and it’s a great size.
I usually only wear one statement piece of jewelry at a time, but I loved how the bright blue from these tassel earrings looked with this pink necklace. I’m not a big fan of bold, heavy earrings but these ones feel pretty light and they are so fun to wear. Of course, I also added bright pink lipstick to this outfit.
I finished this look with these fun black sandals from JENN ARDOR. They have a low heel so they’re really comfortable to wear and I loved how they made this outfit just a little dressier. These shoes actually remind me a lot of the ones I wore for high school dances. I wish I had kept them, they would be so in right now!
And finally, my last one dress, three ways outfit is my “date night” look. A little black dress is an obvious choice for date night, even if it’s a more casual t-shirt dress like this one.
I decided to keep this outfit a little more simple and just dress it up with nice accessories. That’s the great thing about a little black dress- it can really stand on its own. I added a darker berry lip for more of a dramatic look and carried a small black pouch instead of a big bag.
I love sparkly pieces for nights out so I added this bold statement necklace. The mirrored crystals add plenty of sparkle and I loved how it made my outfit look more polished and complete.
The final touches were these fun velvet heels from JENN ARDOR. They have a higher heel than the black sandals from my brunch outfit and are a little nicer for a night on the town. And how pretty is the burgundy velvet? These are so nice- in fact, I keep wearing them around the house just because they’re so pretty to look at!

What a cute LBD!
Love all of these looks. I think my favorite one is with the pink cardigan.
Thanks Aurola! I love how the pink totally brightened up the look!
Very nIce you can do anything with a black dress. 😊
Thanks for the inspiration on how to take one dress and wear it multiple ways! I struggle with being creative with what’s already in my closet but your post gives me some ideas to try.
It is always great to invest in a cute LBD. It is really such a versatile piece of clothing that you can go from casual to formal with just a few accessories added to the outfit! I like the one with the pink cardigan. That is a really cute way to wear your LBD.
Love this post so much! I am always looking for ways to style my black dresses!
