Orange Crush

neon_orange_dressAfter living in Denver for three years, it’s hard to see orange and not think of football. But when I spotted this dress from across the room at Banana Republic, all I could think of was summer. I’ve never really been partial to the color orange (except for fun kitchen appliances), but in a rack next to a bunch of neutrals, this dress really stood out and I had to try it on. What if it was my color and I just never knew? I ended up leaving with the orange dress that day. It is seriously a bright, neon orange and it’s a lot of fun to wear, plus the sale price couldn’t be beat. I paired it with brights and lots of gold here but I think it would also work with grays or even some leopard print. For such a bright color, I’ve been really surprised by how many items from my closet actually work with it.

Or I can even wear it without a belt for a more relaxed look. The pleats are a fun addition and this neon orange dress even has pockets!

neon_orange_dress2When paired with this bright blue cardigan, this dress doesn’t make me think of football at all, just warm weather!
