When it comes to fashion, there are definitely certain colors that I gravitate to over and over again (black and pink immediately come to mind). One color I typically hate wearing though is navy. It’s just so boring and plain and I hate how it feels like it’s draining my energy throughout the day. Surprisingly, I was instantly drawn to this dress on the rack. I think it’s the print- it breaks up the dark color and adds a little interest to the dress. When I received this navy and white striped blazer, I had to pair it with this printed dress. I love the pattern play and the stripes and print add enough interest to make even the dullest color fun to wear.
I think it’s fun to mix patterns although it can be tricky to get right. I’ve found the best way to make it work is to stick to the same color family and if you’re going to use a bold print, pair it with something a little more subtle. I think this pattern play works because both the dress and blazer are navy and white. The print on the dress is small enough that it doesn’t clash with the bold stripes on the blazer.
I am so happy that I took a chance on navy and picked up this dress. I’ve been wearing it every weekend since I got it. I love the slight fit and flare shape and it’s the perfect easy dress to wear while lounging around. The small details really make this dress for me- the ruffle at the waist and the tie at the neck. I’ve been wearing it so often that I’m debating picking it up in two more colors, and for the price, how could I resist?
I have a handful of blazers already but I like how this one really stands out. In addition to the bold stripes, I like how it has an open front that makes it feel a bit more casual. The ruched, rolled sleeves add a little more interest to a classic piece.
I’m not sure if this outfit has completely changed my stance on navy but next time I see a cute piece of clothing, I won’t automatically rule it out because it happens to be a dark blue. Especially if it has a fun pattern.

Thanks Kimberly! I think mixing patterns is so fun but I don’t do it enough either!
Oh my goodness! This is super cute! I love mixing patterns but I always second guess myself. These stripes and polka dots are perfect!
Thanks Marcie! I think as long as you stick to the same colors you can get away with mixing prints!
I’m drooling over the striped blazer! It’s amazing. I need to order it!!! I also gravitate toward certain colors–black, white, pink and royal blue. I absolutely love this outfit.
Isn’t it so fun? I love the stripes!
Love this romper! Such a cute outfit!
Thanks Leah!
I’m not sure which piece I love more – so cute!!
They are both so great!
Looks like a great outfit for this summer. The romper is the best part of the outfit in my opinion but it all looks nicely put together! Enjoy that beautiful weather out there!
The weather is so nice right now!
I am always afraid to mix patterns; with my body type it usually doesn’t look right so I stick with solids. You look well put together and super pretty. Kudos.
I love that blazer so much! I’m so into stripes right now, especially in the summer – I would wear it with everything! (insert heart eyes emoji here)
I love the mix of these patterns – they go so well together! Cute outfit!
