Every year around the holidays, Sephora releases a lip set full of minis and full-sized products. It’s part of their Sephora Favorites collection which also includes skincare, eyeliner, perfume, and hair sets. They are all a great way to try new products and discover new brands for a great package price. I’ve bought a couple of the mixed makeup and smaller sets before and I’ve always thought about getting the big lip kit. This year I finally took the plunge and purchased Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip, which includes 15 products.
The Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip set comes in a pretty purple-wrapped gold box. I love the look of these sets and the metallic gold box is pretty enough to reuse as a gift box. The lip products are perfectly placed in a plastic tray that keeps them from bumping around (and the slots for each product are really secure- it’s actually a little difficult to get them out).
This year’s Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip set has a great variety of colors and brands. I was excited to see some higher end brands included and I love the mix of colors. I found most of them to be very wearable and I was happy to see only one brand duplicated in the set (Buxom, did Sephora really need to include two lipglosses from them?).
For $59, I received 15 products, four of which are full-sized and eleven that are minis. The shades range from dark brown to deep berry, red to neon pink, and coral to orange. The range of colors this year was really great and there were only a couple that I didn’t like. Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip is a large set but I tried to do a comprehensive post and included lots of pictures and swatches of every color.
The first five products in the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip set are Bite Beauty’s Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Cognac (0.03 deluxe size, value of $14.40), Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick in Homegirl (0.04 oz deluxe size, value of $8.40), NARS’ Lipstick in Scarlet Empress (full size, value of $27), Buxom’s Full-On Lip Polish in Sophia (0.07 oz deluxe size, value of $8.87), and Lancome’s Lip Lover in 355 Framboise Etoile (0.10 oz deluxe size, value of $16.79).
The Bite Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Cognac is a dark brown matte lipstick. The formula is designed to lock in moisture and it’s water resistant so it lasts longer. I like lipsticks that come in pencil form because they are super easy to apply, especially on the go.
Unfortunately, this is not one of the colors in this set I was excited about receiving. I’ve found that lip colors that lean too brown just don’t work for me and this color is straight up dark brown. I love the packaging on this and Bite formulas are pretty nice but I wish a different color was included instead.
Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick in Homegirl looks very intense in the tube but it’s much different on. This is described as a matte black berry shade. It’s a very dark purple color with a matte finish. It is a super pigmented, long-wearing lipstick formula.
This is another color that I was sure I wouldn’t really like and in person it’s even worse than I thought it would be. The color isn’t too bad- it’s a very dark reddish purple- but the formula is terrible! It’s patchy and drying, definitely not what I would expect from a lipstick whose description mentions “one-swipe payoff” and says it “leaves lips supple.” It’s definitely one of my least favorites in the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip set.
NARS Lipstick in Scarlet Empress is described as a semi matte blue red, but it’s really more of a dark berry color. This is one of the full-sized lipsticks in the set and I’m really excited about it. I love NARS Lipsticks and this is a color that I haven’t tried yet. These lipsticks are creamy and feel light on. They don’t last all day but they are very comfortable to wear.
Scarlet Empress is the perfect vampy shade for fall. The semi matte finish makes it look velvety and fresh. I wouldn’t have picked out this shade on my own but I’m really happy I have it. I can’t wait to wear this color when it gets cooler.
Buxom’s Full-On Lip Polish in Sophia is a color that I already have so I wish a different shade was included in this set. I like Buxom’s glosses and Sophia is a pretty shade so it could be worse (at least it’s not a dark brown!). Buxom’s Lip Polishes are sheer with shimmer and they are plumping glosses so they have a tingling effect.
Lancome’s Lip Lover in 355 Framboise Etoile is a three-in-one product that is pigmented like a lipstick, shiny like a gloss, and hydrating like a balm. I really wanted to try this product and I love the color that came in Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip. I believe this color is used in a lot of Lancome’s promos, so it may be a dupe for a lot of people.
355 Framboise Etoile is a pretty berry-pink. The formula is really nice and I was surprised by how pigmented it was. This sample looks small but it’s a little over two-thirds a full size. I’m really happy with the bright fuchsia shade and I can’t wait to wear this.
The next five products in the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip set are YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 1 Le Rouge (0.03 oz deluxe size, value of $8.31), Ciate’s Liquid Velvet Matte Lip Slick in Risque (full size, value of $19), Smashbox’s Be Legendary Matte Lipstick in Magenta Matte (full size, value of $20), Too Faced’s Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Peony (0.16 oz deluxe size, value of $8.40), and Urban Decay’s Revolution Lipstick in Streak (full size, value of $22).
I was really looking forward to getting YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 1 Le Rouge. I love YSL’s Rouge Volupte and Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks but I’d never tried the Rouge Pur Couture formula before. I’m not much of a red person but I actually really like this color.
1 Le Rouge is a great bright red and it is super creamy. I actually swatched this one after a few of the other lipsticks and I was surprised by how different it felt. This glided on so easily and the pigmentation was perfect with one swipe. I have a feeling I’m going to need more of these hydrating lipsticks.
Ciate’s Liquid Velvet Matte Lip Slick in Risque is another of the full-sized products in this set. I wasn’t sure if I would really like this since, as I mentioned, I’m not much of a red-lipstick-person. After swatching this, I’m so glad it was included. This is a long wearing but moisturizing liquid lipstick that is very pigmented.
Risque is a super bright shade. It’s described as a tomato red but I would consider it more of a punchy orange than a red color. This is definitely a stand-out shade and I love how it’s almost neon. Risque will be a really fun color to wear.
Smashbox’s Be Legendary Matte Lipstick in Magenta Matte is part of their collaboration with Donald Robertson and it’s also a full-sized lipstick. This is a neon pink matte that leans just a little purple. Magenta Matte is right up my alley but it might be a hard color for some to pull off.
Although this is a matte shade, it felt very creamy and went on smoothly. This was opaque with one pass and it really “wowed” me when I swatched it. This is another color that I can’t wait to wear and I’m glad it was included.
Too Faced’s Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Peony is another shade that shows up in a lot of promos and sets so it will also be a dupe for many people. I hadn’t tried any of these lipsticks before and Peony is a pretty shade so I was looking forward to this sample. The “Melted” name threw me off and I expected these lipsticks to be a thick, gloopy mess but they’re actually the opposite. I found this way easier to apply than most liquid lipsticks and it was easy to apply just a thin layer.
Peony is described as a dusty rose but I think this is a color that will look a lot different based on your skin tone and the lighting. It looks like a pink leaning MLBB color here but I’ve also seen it look like a brighter pink in store lighting. On me, it’s a pastel, mod looking shade that is fun to wear with bold blue and purple eyeshadows. The formula is a bit drying and I had to reapply it often but I still like this a lot.
Urban Decay’s Revolution Lipstick in Streak is the final full size in this set. I’ve gotten samples of this before and really liked it so I was so happy to see this was included. The Revolution Lipstick formula is really nice. It’s creamy but not soft and very pigmented. This is very comfortable to wear and does not dry out my lips.
Streak is a pretty coral shade that leans pink. It glides on well and lasts for several hours before I need to reapply. The packaging is nice and heavy and the shape of the lipstick makes it easy to apply. I’m glad Sephora included a coral in this set, it’s a unique shade to get in lip sets.
The last five products in the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip set are Fresh’s Sugar Lip Treatment in Tulip (0.07 deluxe size, value of $10.50), Clinique’s Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Strawberry (0.04 oz deluxe size, value of $6.80), Buxom’s Full-On Lip Cream in Berry Blast (0.07 deluxe size, value of $9.50), Tarte’s Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss in Energy (0.05 oz deluxe size, value of $3.52), and Laura Mercier’s Creme Smooth Lip Coulour in Milky Way (0.07 oz deluxe size, value of $13.50).
I really like Fresh’s Sugar Lip Treatments and Tulip is a new color for me. These tinted balms are thick and a little waxy. They are very hydrating but they do melt easily so be careful where you store them. The metal cases with their twist off packaging feel really luxe.
Tulip is a sheer hot pink tint. Since this is a balm with tint added, it’s not very pigmented but it does give a nice wash of color. I like the range of formulas included in this set and these balms feel great on my lips.
I’ve tried Clinique’s Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms before and I wasn’t very impressed but I like Strawberry. This is also more of a tinted balm like Tulip but it’s not as thick and it’s more pigmented.
Strawberry is a light reddish pink that doesn’t apply too unevenly (a problem I’ve had with Chubby Sticks in the past). I would have preferred to get a different product over this one but I will still get a lot of use out of it.
Buxom’s Full-On Lip Cream in Berry Blast is the second Buxom lipgloss in this set. They are different formulas but it seems a little redundant to have both. The Lip Polishes have shimmer and the Lip Creams do not. This also contains plumping ingredients that make your lips tingle.
Berry Blast is a vivid fuchsia that leans a little purple. This is another dupe for me but it’s a really pretty color so I’m not too upset, although I would have preferred a new shade. These glosses have a great vanilla scent and they aren’t too sticky.
Tarte’s Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss in Energy is a clear gloss that adjusts to your lips to create a personalized color. Tarte has so many great lip products so it seems a little strange that Sephora would include this (mostly) clear gloss in Give Me More Lip.
This gloss is nice and light and it left a pink stain behind when I wiped it off. I don’t mind that this was included in the set but there are so many better lip products Sephora could have included instead.
The Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Milky Way is another color that I knew I wouldn’t like when I bought this set. I’m not sure when brown became the latest lip color to have but I am not feeling it.
Milky Way is a very warm, yellow-leaning brown that looks a little taupe in the tube. The formula is designed to last all day and feel very hydrating on the lips. I’m not sure why Sephora included two brown lipsticks in this set but at least they are different shades of brown?
I am so happy I took the plunge and picked up the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip set. I got fifteen new lip products (4 full size and 11 minis) and while I don’t love all fifteen, the value of the ones I do like makes this set worth it for me. I’m really impressed with the variety of colors and brands in the set this year and I can’t wait to wear everything! Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip is $59 (with a value of $196.99) here.
Have you tried any of these products? Which color is your favorite?
