Stripes and Sheer Layers

OOTD Striped Top and Maxi Skirt 3When it comes to fashion, I’m a sucker for stripes and classic pieces with interesting details. Stripes are a great way to add a little interest to an outfit without going overboard. Classic pieces stand the test of time for a reason and I love how extra touches can elevate them from being simple, minimalistic pieces that you see everywhere to something a little more fun while still being understated. For this outfit, I wanted something comfortable but still cute so I went with a striped top and sheer maxi skirt with some extra details.

OOTD Striped Top and Maxi SkirtThis striped top is easily one of my favorites. It’s got a great black and white stripe and a fun flyaway back. I love the thick white trim on the cuffs and hem and it has a nice easy drape.

OOTD Striped Top and Maxi Skirt 6This sheer maxi skirt is perfect for lazy days when I want a dressy-casual look. I love the soft pleats and pockets (!) and it’s so fun how the chiffon layer makes it look like a solid black skirt inside but then outside or in the light you can see the sheer layer. It has such a great beachy feel to it, I love wearing it with tees and sneakers. These Adidas sneakers are one of my favorite purchases this year, I’ve worn them while we’ve been traveling and sightseeing and they are so comfortable!

OOTD Striped Top and Maxi Skirt 7I like pairing black and white outfits with lots of silver accessories and bright lipstick. I got all silver pieces in my latest Rocksbox so everything was perfect to wear with this look! I also added my new Colby June Falling Arrowhead Choker and a black watch. I really like pink with black and white so I added a punchy rose lipstick from the Maybelline Vivids line. In the end I think I ended up with a pretty cute and comfy look.
