All Laced Up

Olive Mini Dress OOTD

I definitely go through phases with trends. Some days, I want to try everything and other days I want to stick to simple basics. Oftentimes (like what’s been happening lately), I will find one trend that I like and buy several different pieces to wear because I like it so much. Lately I’ve been into lace up details and cutouts. This lace up dress started it all. I’ve been wanting a short dress with sleeves and I loved the lace up neckline on this so much that I’ve been buying “all the lace up things” ever since.

All Bundled Up for Christmas Shopping

ootd_shoppingIt has been pretty cold here the past few days (whether it’s really that cold or it just seems like it in contrast to the weather in Maui, I’m not really sure) so I have been bundling up and wearing plenty of layers. I’ve managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done and my presents wrapped with the exception of a few online orders I’m still waiting on. Custom Clothing with eShakti

eshakti_dress2We recently got to try out a clothing company called eShakti that specializes in custom clothing. You can order your selection using standard clothing sizes (anywhere from 0-36W) or input your measurements to get a piece made just for you. We each got to pick something we wanted to try and here are our experiences.

Versatility is key, like an open sweater whose sleeves can be easily pushed up or a wool skirt and ankle boots that provide warmth but also the opportunity for bare legs. I’ve also transitioned to my fall wardrobe colors: grays, berries, and taupes. I’ve found that having lots of clothes in this color palette means it’s super easy to throw things together and layer as needed. I love the colorblocking on this skirt, it fits perfectly with my theme and it keeps an otherwise simple skirt from being too boring.
