Our final full day in Paris was a little more relaxing in that we only had one thing on our list but we were still on-the-go for most of the day. I couldn’t go to Paris without visiting a fancy palace and I was so excited when we were able to fit a visit to one in our itinerary. We opted to skip Versailles (and the infamous crowds) and instead went to Château de Fontainebleau.
Fall in Phoenix is tough. Everyone else is breaking out their cozy clothes in dark, moody colors but it still feels like summer here. It’s just not cool enough yet to break out the warm sweaters and scarves. So instead I’ve been buying light tops and dresses but in deeper colors so I still get my fall fix. This burgundy lace dress from Yoins is one of my latest finds. I love the rich color but the short length and lace sleeves still keep me weather-appropriate.
Day four in Paris was probably my favorite of our entire trip. We still managed to do a ton of stuff but it felt a lot more relaxing after the previous couple of days. I think it helped that we didn’t travel across the city as much and the places we visited weren’t as overwhelming as say, the Louvre. Our visits at each stop were much shorter and it seemed like a bit of a lazy day, even though it wasn’t at all. We began the day with a quick coffee stop before taking the metro to the Musée D’Orsay.
Our third day in Paris was a little slow to start after our extremely long and tiring second day. We had a pretty full day planned for this day as well but ended up skipping a couple of spots on our list. It was the best thing we could have done. We still ended up seeing quite a bit and wearing ourselves out again but we did manage to sit, people watch, and take in the city at a more relaxed pace. And we’ll just have to go back to see what we missed!
Every now and then, you find the perfect dress. Something that you never get sick of, something that is always fun to wear, and something that works for almost any occasion. This periwinkle dress checks all the boxes for me. It’s several years old but I still love to wear it and it’s one of the easiest pieces in my closet. All I have to do is throw it on and go, but I still love adding fun accessories so it doesn’t look like the same outfit every time. It’s perfect for work but the light fabric is also great for parties or as a dressier look while traveling. What could be better than that?
What could be better than a spur of the moment trip to Paris? I have always wanted to go to Paris. Growing up, it seemed like such a beautiful city full of glamorous people doing glamorous things. I couldn’t imagine a place much more different than the Phoenix desert. I watched all of the French movies (A Very Long Engagement is one of my favorite movies ever), listened to French music, and took French classes in high school and college. But I never visited! C’est la vie.
Fast forward to this spring. G and I had some vacation time at the end of April and we originally planned on going to London. We had the perfect itinerary planned and were so excited… until the flights filled up! So naturally our only option was to go to Paris instead (quelle horreur!). It was a little crazy- I only had a few days to plan the trip and we ended up booking an Airbnb while sitting on the plane! But we made it and spent five amazing days in the City of Lights.
