Jeni’s Ice Cream

In light of me now living in Nashville and it being Thursday, I thought I would do a Throwback Thursday post to when Molly and I went to Jeni’s Ice Cream on our sister trip to Nashville earlier this year! Jeni’s had been on my list for awhile but I always ran out of time on my previous trips. We almost didn’t have time on this trip either but decided to make a quick stop at the 12 South location on the way to the airport. I was definitely glad we stopped- Jeni’s lived up to all the hype!

The line was out the door when we arrived but it actually moved pretty fast and there was plenty of seating inside. While we waited we took goofy pictures and scoped out all the favors. They have this really cute chalkboard menu listing all the flavors and toppings.

Salt & Straw

I was super stoked when I found out Portland based Salt & Straw had opened a location in Los Angeles. I no longer needed to plan a trip to Portland just for the ice cream (don’t worry, Portland is still on top of my list of cities to explore next)! Β When Molly and I started planning her visit to Los Angeles, I knew we would have to check out Salt & Straw, so on Saturday that’s exactly what we did.

We started Saturday by checking out the James Perse sample sale. Molly had never been to a sample sale before so we thought it would be fun to check out. There was quite a line when we got there but luckily we only waited about 45 minutes. The warehouse was on the small side but still had quite a few selections. I picked up a simple white t shirt (I can always use another white t) and a loose fitting white tank while Molly found a cute black long sleeve dress and the same white tank I got. They even had wine and appetizers at the sale and a couple ping pong tables on the way out.
