I’ll admit, I have a lot of clothes. I can’t help it, I just love fashion and finding new things to wear. I love trying fun new trends but for the most part, I gravitate toward simpler pieces that can be worn in a lot of different ways. One of my favorite things to buy are little black dresses, especially little black t-shirt dresses. I love their versatility and how comfy they are! They’re so easy to dress up or down and they seem to work for almost every occasion. I’ve got quite a few already and my latest find is this tiered version that even has pockets. It’s been on constant rotation in my closet and I thought it would make a fun post if I showed you some of the different ways I’ve been wearing it. So here it is: one dress, three ways.
It has been uncharacteristically rainy here all week. Typically it rains for a while here and then stops but this week has been nothing but rain with a few breaks in between. It’s the kind of weather that makes me want to pull out cozy sweaters and drink hot chocolate, which is exactly what I’ve been doing. Usually I wouldn’t be this happy about the rain but it’s given me a chance to use my cute striped umbrella!
Growing up during the Britney Spears era meant lots of crop tops for me. Since living in Phoenix basically means trying to wear as few clothes as possible for nine months out of the year, I was all about it. I have to say I don’t really miss the “midriff baring top and super low rise jeans” look but I still love a good crop top, only now I prefer to pair them with high-waisted skirts that allow just a sliver of skin to be seen.
By now, it should be no secret that I love bright pink. I own roughly a million pink lipsticks (that’s only a slight exaggeration) and a handful of pink sweaters. But, in my opinion, I don’t own nearly enough pink dresses. I recently picked up this neon pink Shoshanna dress and I’ve fallen completely in love with it. The tiered layers add an interesting touch and they are heavy enough to lay nicely without creating a cupcake effect. I love the easy fit of this dress and the racerback makes it feel a little sporty.
Last week I purchased my first MAC product, their Viva Glam Miley Cyrus lipstick. MAC seems to be a polarizing brand- lots of people seem to absolutely love them but others don’t think they’re worth the money. I’d been contemplating picking something up to see for myself when I saw this lipstick. I’m a sucker for a bright pink lip and the Viva Glam lipsticks are for a great cause. Every penny of the price ($16) goes to the MAC Aids Fund, which supports women, men, and children who are living with or are affected by HIV/AIDS. That’s right, the entire price of the lipstick (not just the profit or a percentage of the proceeds) goes to charity.
