Go Bold with Stripes

Bold Striped Top OOTD

I like to wear a lot of different prints but stripes are definitely my number one. I love how they are simple and classic but can easily be bold and fresh depending on the size and what I pair them with. I usually go for a breton stripe but every now and then I mix it up, like with these two tops. I’ve been craving lots of stripes lately and these two black and white striped tops caught my eye. I love the fun details like gingham sleeves and a peplum but my favorite part is how easy each striped top is to wear.

7 Best Bright Pink Lipsticks

7 Best Bright Pink LipsticksIt’s no secret that I am a lover of pink lipsticks. I’m not quite sure exactly how many I own (mostly because I’m too embarrassed to count) but it’s a lot. Like, a lot. I can’t help it, I just love them all! They’re great during the winter to add a pop of color to my all-black-and-gray wardrobe and when it’s warmer out they pair perfectly with more colorful outfits. I love all pink lip colors whether they’re light, mod pinks or more nude shades but I especially love bright pinks. I frequently have people ask for recommendations or about the color I’m wearing so here’s a list of the 7 best bright pink lipsticks that you need to own!

Sequins and Stripes

ootd-striped-tunic-and-jeans-1I have a confession to make. A few weeks ago I was at work and realized I was wearing two different shoes! I have a pile of flats that I just grab from each morning and I picked two different styles that day. And they weren’t even close, one was gray suede and one was black leather. Talk about embarrassing. Luckily, no one noticed and I was able to pop over to Target to get some matching shoes. I found these quilted black flats with ankle straps and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since, so I guess it all worked out in the end (but now I’m much more aware of what shoes I leave the house in!). I’ve been wearing them all the time and a few days ago I thought they would look great with the sequins and stripes on this dress, dark jeans, and a black blazer for a casual, put-together look.

Stripes and Sheer Layers

OOTD Striped Top and Maxi Skirt 3When it comes to fashion, I’m a sucker for stripes and classic pieces with interesting details. Stripes are a great way to add a little interest to an outfit without going overboard. Classic pieces stand the test of time for a reason and I love how extra touches can elevate them from being simple, minimalistic pieces that you see everywhere to something a little more fun while still being understated. For this outfit, I wanted something comfortable but still cute so I went with a striped top and sheer maxi skirt with some extra details.

Spring Looks with Dresslink

Dresslink White Tulle Skirt 2I love when spring rolls around and I can ditch the tights I’ve been wearing all winter! I love warm weather (good for me since I live in Phoenix) and I spend all winter counting down the days until I can wear a skirt with bare legs. Luckily, it gets warm pretty quick here so I don’t have to suffer for too long. I recently picked out a couple of new spring skirts from Dresslink and I was so happy when they arrived and I was able to wear them with bare legs immediately! I’m not quite ready for mini skirts yet (those seem like more of a summer thing) so I went with two midi skirts in different materials: a white tulle skirt and a red scuba skirt.

Shoshanna Print Dress

Shoshanna Print DressThis Shoshanna print dress is one of my favorite dresses to wear because it has so many different styling options! The print contains so many colors (blacks, browns, blues, pinks, yellows, greens) that you would think it would be difficult to find things to match but it’s actually the opposite. It’s so easy to add different layers and accessories and I’ve found that as long as I pair this dress with colors that are in the print, it works. I’ve worn it with lots of black or brown for an outfit that really lets the print stand out but typically I wear it with a little bit of everything. I just think it’s more fun! I wear this dress a lot in the fall and winter as it’s perfect for layers but it also works on its own with just a light sweater if it’s warmer out.
