I am so ready for spring! Lately all I’ve been wanting to wear are lighter, brighter colors and I keep thinking that I really need a denim jacket to layer over spring florals. While we aren’t quite there yet, it’s been feeling like spring in AZ. I took full advantage of the warmer weather and decided to dress in spring pastels today. I love how crisp white jeans look and I’ve been waiting all winter to wear these! When I got this nude top with rose gold sequins, I knew it would be perfect to pair with these jeans. I added some gold and blush accents and ended up with what I think is a pretty cute spring-like outfit.
I have been really into sweaters lately. I get cold easily but I’m not a fan of wearing bulky layers or jackets, especially on my days off when I’m running errands or lounging around the house. As a result, I tend to end up wearing a uniform of sorts during the colder months- a cozy sweater with jeans or leggings and preferably some fun sneakers. It can definitely get a bit repetitive (especially since once I find a sweater I love, I tend to wear it for multiple days in a row) so I always look for pieces with something special. This lace up sleeve sweater from SheIn is my latest find and it’s been on repeat since I got it.
I’ve never been super into sporty clothes. Sure, I love comfy clothes and fun sneakers but you’ll never catch me running around in workout gear or tracksuits. But when I saw this velvet bomber, I had to have it. I’ve been into velvet and burgundy lately and I love how this jacket took a sporty silhouette and dressed it up a bit. Paired with a berry lip and glitter sneakers, it made the perfect outfit, even for someone who never envied Sporty Spice’s wardrobe.
It’s funny how there are certain articles of clothing we are drawn to over and over again. For me, it’s always a good tunic top. I think it stems from growing up, when I was super tall but living in a world of low-rise jeans- it was impossible to find a top that was long enough. Now I love them to be as long as possible and frequently wear mini dresses as tops (mostly because, again- really tall). This gray draped tunic is perfect. It has plenty of length and it also happens to be super comfortable and versatile.
I definitely go through phases with trends. Some days, I want to try everything and other days I want to stick to simple basics. Oftentimes (like what’s been happening lately), I will find one trend that I like and buy several different pieces to wear because I like it so much. Lately I’ve been into lace up details and cutouts. This lace up dress started it all. I’ve been wanting a short dress with sleeves and I loved the lace up neckline on this so much that I’ve been buying “all the lace up things” ever since.
I love easy outfits that I can just throw on while still looking put together. For that reason, I wear a lot of neutrals that can be mixed and matched. It’s so much easier to get dressed in the morning if all you have to do is grab a top and a bottom without worrying about colors matching. Still, I like to add a little fun and interest to my outfits so I rely on little details to elevate otherwise simple basics. This layered look top is perfect for me. The white and gray colors fit my color scheme but it looks like I’ve taken the time to layer a couple of different tops when really I’ve just thrown on a light sweater and left the house.
