I’m always on the hunt for a good fashion deal. I can’t help it, I love clothes (especially fancy ones like this Vera Wang tunic) but I don’t love paying for them. Who does? So I shop the sales and spend a lot of time online window shopping for items before I decide which ones to buy. I like to make sure something is worth the investment before I buy it, although I definitely make spontaneous purchases every now and then. I usually buy my designer pieces at discounts from Gilt but I’ve recently discovered TheRealReal and now I’m addicted!
I’m not usually a fan of blush. It seems a little strange, considering I love pink, but blush feels like something else entirely. I love the idea of blush and it looks great on other people, but it’s hard for me to find blush clothes that I really like. Typically, they lean too brown or mauve-y and those colors just do not look good on me. I was really surprised when I found this blush mini dress though. It’s super pale and a true blush pink- no brown or mauve shades to be found. It feels perfect for spring and it’s definitely changed how I feel about the color.
Lately I have really been into light layers. I’ve basically been wearing my summer clothes and adding enough things on top until I feel warm enough. I love super soft, super thin fabrics and pieces that drape nicely and I’m having lots of fun coming up with new ways to wear them. This look is a perfect example. I love cool, casual maxi dresses but I’m not a fan of bare shoulders unless it’s crazy hot outside. So I added this thin tunic top over one and created a layered maxi dress that was perfect for wearing around town last weekend.
So… it’s not exactly coat weather in Phoenix right now. But, I have been searching for a pink coat for a long time with no success so I’m totally justified in getting this pink wrap coat now, right? Plus, I’ve got a vacation coming up, what if I visit someplace cold? I totally need this right now. In all honesty, I probably don’t but can you blame me for getting it? I love the shape and it’s the perfect spring coat- if you actually need one. And if you’re on the fence- just wait until you see the price!
I’ve been on a bit of a boot kick lately. I know, boots aren’t exactly what you expect to be buying in early spring but I’ve been finding such good deals, it’s been hard to resist them! I’ve been wanting over-the-knee boots for awhile and I was so excited when I found these ones on super clearance. Not only are they tall enough on me but they are also flat (a major plus as I hate walking around in heels all day). I love the slim fit and so far they’ve been comfortable to wear. I’ve been wearing them over skinny jeans and I think they’ll look so great with dresses as it warms up.
There are a few things I can never say no to while shopping (like black and white stripes and pops of bright pink). Fun prints are pretty near the top of the list (see examples here and here) and if it’s a great star print, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be going home with me. This dress checked off quite a few boxes when I saw it- star print, long sleeves, and appropriate for work. Check, check, and check. And since I found it at H&M, the price was right too. I mean, how could I resist?
