When I think of Evian Facial Spray, I imagine models on a tropical beach lightly misting their faces while a breeze gently blows their hair around. It seems so fancy- natural spring water is bottled at the source in the French Alps. It’s tested 300 times a day to ensure it’s purity and that it has a neutral pH of 7.2 to properly hydrate and refresh skin. It uses a unique fine micro-droplet mist to dispense the spray. The Evian Facial Spray is hypoallergenic and is perfect for adding hydration or refreshing makeup throughout the day.
I recently got the chance to try a couple of products from ARK Skincare: their Age Defend Replenishing Moisturizer and their Skin Perfector Triple Action Exfoliator. ARK Skincare is a British brand that uses natural ingredients and aims to give you professional, salon-quality results at home. Their skincare “system” is pretty easy to figure out- they have different lines based on age and what your skin needs during that time period. For example, the Age Protect line for teens and people in their twenties focuses on protecting against daily pollutants while the Age Defy line for 50 and up uses collagen-boosting and skin-brightening ingredients. It seems like a pretty simple way to choose your skincare products.
I have a bit of an obsession with face masks. I love all different kinds and I really love trying new ones. A few that I always have in rotation are some kind of mud/charcoal mask to remove impurities, a hydrating mask to keep my skin moisturized, and a bevy of sheet masks to keep my skin looking great. I love how low-risk sheet masks are- they’re pretty inexpensive and since they’re a one-time use, if I hate it I never have to use it again! And they’re just fun to use! I recently got the chance to try a couple of When sheet masks: The Last Choice and Travelmate. When is a Korean brand that is starting to pop up all over the US (their masks are sold at Sephora, Ulta, Birchbox, and Anthropologie). When sheet masks come in five different varieties to suit all different skin needs. The masks are made from coconuts and are designed to be suitable for everyone, even those with sensitive skin.
I love skincare. It’s not as popular as new makeup or clothes because there isn’t that instant gratification but I love knowing that I’m taking care of my skin. I really like the ritual at the end of the night of washing my face and applying serums, moisturizers, and masks. It’s calming and a great way to start to relax before bed. I recently got the chance to try the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask and True Glow Eye Cream from Valentia, a brand that focuses on using natural ingredients like berries, herbs, and barks to create effective products. I love masks of any kind but hydrating masks are one of my favorites and I’ve yet to find an eye cream I love so I was excited to try these products.
Cleansers are one of those products that I don’t think much about. Makeup is fun to use and buy and I love skincare products that feel great on my skin and make a noticeable difference but I’m pretty indifferent to facial cleansers. As long as it cleans my face, it’s fine. Or at least that’s how I used to feel until I really started thinking about it. I use so many different cleansers and very rarely buy the same one twice, unless there’s a really good sale. I used to think that’s because they’re all about the same, but now I realize it’s because I’ve never found one that I really love. I recently got the chance to try OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser which uses powerful ingredients like rose hip oil and vitamin E to not only cleanse skin but also give it a healthy glow. Would it make me change my mind about facial cleansers?
This post is just a little late but I wanted to write about my December beauty favorites. December was an eclectic makeup month for me. I wore a lot of light, dewy makeup at the beginning of the month when we were on vacation and toward the end of the month I was all about glitter and shine for the holidays. I went through a lot of bright bold lip colors and I’ve been using up a lot of makeup and skincare samples instead of just sticking with my usual products. At the end of the month, three products really stood out to me: Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen, Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Junkie, and Urban Decay’s Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette.
