Day four in Paris was probably my favorite of our entire trip. We still managed to do a ton of stuff but it felt a lot more relaxing after the previous couple of days. I think it helped that we didn’t travel across the city as much and the places we visited weren’t as overwhelming as say, the Louvre. Our visits at each stop were much shorter and it seemed like a bit of a lazy day, even though it wasn’t at all. We began the day with a quick coffee stop before taking the metro to the Musée D’Orsay.
I definitely go through phases with trends. Some days, I want to try everything and other days I want to stick to simple basics. Oftentimes (like what’s been happening lately), I will find one trend that I like and buy several different pieces to wear because I like it so much. Lately I’ve been into lace up details and cutouts. This lace up dress started it all. I’ve been wanting a short dress with sleeves and I loved the lace up neckline on this so much that I’ve been buying “all the lace up things” ever since.
I like to wear a lot of different prints but stripes are definitely my number one. I love how they are simple and classic but can easily be bold and fresh depending on the size and what I pair them with. I usually go for a breton stripe but every now and then I mix it up, like with these two tops. I’ve been craving lots of stripes lately and these two black and white striped tops caught my eye. I love the fun details like gingham sleeves and a peplum but my favorite part is how easy each striped top is to wear.
I definitely experienced a range of weather when I visited Stacie in Nashville a couple of weeks ago. There were a couple of what I would consider normal spring days, a couple of really warm (90 degrees or so) days and then a big storm rolled in and we were back to our winter coats. When the weather is really finicky like that I like to rely on light spring layers. We did a lot of exploring while I was there and it was easy to throw on a few layers in the morning and remove them if the day warmed up. One of my favorite things we did was visit Nashville’s Bicentennial Mall, where we ran into all of these pretty trees!
Gingham print just screams spring and summer to me. Just looking at it makes me think of picnics and sunshine and I can’t think of a better fabric to wear when the weather starts to warm up. I haven’t owned any gingham in a while so I was super excited when I got the chance to try this gingham top from SheIn. It has a really fun shape and the black and white print is so charming, I can already tell I’m going to be wearing this all the time.
I’ll admit, I have a lot of clothes. Clothing is one of my favorite things to buy and my closet and dresser are both overflowing. For the most part though, I get a lot of use out of everything and tend to wear pieces for years and years until they are threadbare or totally out of style. There are definitely some basics that I reach for over and over again but most of my favorites are unique pieces that have a story behind them. I love buying clothing or jewelry as a souvenir when traveling or to wear for a special occasion and it’s so fun thinking of that trip or event when I wear it. Take this brown polka dot dress for example. I bought this when I went to New York City for the first time about 10 years ago and I still think of that trip every time I put it on.
