Going Tropical / Palm Print Wrap Skirt

OOTD Palm Print SkirtI love fun prints, especially brighter-colored prints for summer. I really like the way prints can take a simple piece and make it much more interesting and dynamic. This palm print wrap skirt is the perfect example. A wrap skirt is a classic, timeless shape but the midi length and palm frond print makes this one perfect for strolling around on summer evenings. I love the longer length and the print is so fun- it makes me wish I was on an island somewhere, walking along the beach!

Pattern Play / Striped Blazer and Printed Dress

Pattern Play- Striped SheIn Blazer and Printed HM Dress with RuffleWhen it comes to fashion, there are definitely certain colors that I gravitate to over and over again (black and pink immediately come to mind). One color I typically hate wearing though is navy. It’s just so boring and plain and I hate how it feels like it’s draining my energy throughout the day. Surprisingly, I was instantly drawn to this dress on the rack. I think it’s the print- it breaks up the dark color and adds a little interest to the dress. When I received this navy and white striped blazer, I had to pair it with this printed dress. I love the pattern play and the stripes and print add enough interest to make even the dullest color fun to wear.

Off The Shoulder Blues

Blue Floral Off the Shoulder TopShoulder details are so big right now. Everywhere I look, there is an off the shoulder dress or a top with cutout shoulders. Everything looks so cute but since the pieces are pretty trendy, it can be hard for me to spend a lot on them. Who knows if I’ll even like that off the shoulder dress in a few months? I love inexpensive fashion companies for this very reason. It’s easy to test out a trend to see how much I’ll wear it before really investing in it. I recently picked out an inexpensive off the shoulder top and cold shoulder dress to test the waters of the shoulder details trend.

Light Spring Layers / Nashville in Spring

Nashville Spring Fashion OOTD Striped Sweater, Skinny Jeans, and Ballet FlatsI definitely experienced a range of weather when I visited Stacie in Nashville a couple of weeks ago. There were a couple of what I would consider normal spring days, a couple of really warm (90 degrees or so) days and then a big storm rolled in and we were back to our winter coats. When the weather is really finicky like that I like to rely on light spring layers. We did a lot of exploring while I was there and it was easy to throw on a few layers in the morning and remove them if the day warmed up. One of my favorite things we did was visit Nashville’s Bicentennial Mall, where we ran into all of these pretty trees!

Nashville Murals with thredUP

thredUP Kate Spade City lights Lilith Skirt and J Crew Factory Embroidered TeeI just got back from visiting Stacie in Nashville and we had so much fun! I was there for a week and our days were jam-packed but it still feels like I need to go back soon because there were so many other things we didn’t get to do! Nashville is pretty easy to visit because it’s so small so it’s super easy to get around. I swear, every time we went anywhere it only took about 15 minutes. We circled the city a few times each day and ate a ridiculous amount of food. I also loved looking at all of the colorful murals around the city and I couldn’t resist using them to showcase some of my new clothes from thredUP, an online consignment shop. You’ll hear a lot more about my trip over the next few weeks, so keep checking back!

Black and White Gingham Top

Gingham Peplum Top with Tie BackGingham print just screams spring and summer to me. Just looking at it makes me think of picnics and sunshine and I can’t think of a better fabric to wear when the weather starts to warm up. I haven’t owned any gingham in a while so I was super excited when I got the chance to try this gingham top from SheIn. It has a really fun shape and the black and white print is so charming, I can already tell I’m going to be wearing this all the time.
