Go Bold with Stripes

Bold Striped Top OOTD

I like to wear a lot of different prints but stripes are definitely my number one. I love how they are simple and classic but can easily be bold and fresh depending on the size and what I pair them with. I usually go for a breton stripe but every now and then I mix it up, like with these two tops. I’ve been craving lots of stripes lately and these two black and white striped tops caught my eye. I love the fun details like gingham sleeves and a peplum but my favorite part is how easy each striped top is to wear.

7 Best Bright Pink Lipsticks

7 Best Bright Pink LipsticksIt’s no secret that I am a lover of pink lipsticks. I’m not quite sure exactly how many I own (mostly because I’m too embarrassed to count) but it’s a lot. Like, a lot. I can’t help it, I just love them all! They’re great during the winter to add a pop of color to my all-black-and-gray wardrobe and when it’s warmer out they pair perfectly with more colorful outfits. I love all pink lip colors whether they’re light, mod pinks or more nude shades but I especially love bright pinks. I frequently have people ask for recommendations or about the color I’m wearing so here’s a list of the 7 best bright pink lipsticks that you need to own!

Too Faced Melted Lipsticks

too faced melted lipsticksI know I’m super late to the party but I recently discovered the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks and I’m in love. I was hesitant to try them at first because the name made it sound like they would be goopy and messy. I mean, a melted lipstick? I had visions of it bleeding outside my lips and feeling super sticky. Luckily, that’s not the case with these at all. Really, they are just liquid lipsticks and I like the formula so much that I’ve been collecting every mini I can get my hands on. So far, I’ve tried Melted Nude, Melted Berry, and Melted Peony.

Fall Colorblocking

colorblock_skirt2We’ve finally reached that awkward time of the year where it’s really cold in the mornings and evenings but it’s still pretty warm during the day. This kind of weather calls for lots of light layers that can easily be shed when the heat gets to be too much. Versatility is key, like an open sweater whose sleeves can be easily pushed up or a wool skirt and ankle boots that provide warmth but also the opportunity for bare legs. I’ve also transitioned to my fall wardrobe colors: grays, berries, and taupes. I’ve found that having lots of clothes in this color palette means it’s super easy to throw things together and layer as needed. I love the colorblocking on this skirt, it fits perfectly with my theme and it keeps an otherwise simple skirt from being too boring.

They are all a great way to try new products and discover new brands for a great package price. I’ve bought a couple of the mixed makeup and smaller sets before and I’ve always thought about getting the big lip kit. This year I finally took the plunge and purchased Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip, which includes 15 products.

June Beauty Favorites

june_beauty_favoritesMy June beauty favorites were all makeup, a departure from the last several months that included a lot of skincare. I’m trialing a few new skincare products but I haven’t tried them enough for them to qualify as favorites yet. Instead, I’ve been playing around with my makeup. I’ve been using a lot of different products but I still settled on three that I loved all month long: Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil, Tarte Dollface, and the Urban Decay Glinda Palette.
