I love easy outfits that I can just throw on while still looking put together. For that reason, I wear a lot of neutrals that can be mixed and matched. It’s so much easier to get dressed in the morning if all you have to do is grab a top and a bottom without worrying about colors matching. Still, I like to add a little fun and interest to my outfits so I rely on little details to elevate otherwise simple basics. This layered look top is perfect for me. The white and gray colors fit my color scheme but it looks like I’ve taken the time to layer a couple of different tops when really I’ve just thrown on a light sweater and left the house.
I really like the look of a collared shirt under a sweater but it’s a bit too fussy for me. It always seems to take forever to get the tops to line up right without the bottom shirt bunching and wrinkling in weird places. That’s why I love this layered look top so much! I get the same look but it’s really just a sweater with a contrast collar and hem attached (and it even zips up the back to make it easy to put on and take off). I also love the side split detailing and the longer length- it’s perfect for wearing with skinny ponte pants or leggings.
I added a super blingy, gigantic statement necklace to this look because I was feeling a little more Karl Lagerfeld than Wednesday Addams. Seriously, how fun is this necklace with the collar? It’s no secret that I am a huge lover of statement necklaces and this is one of my new favorites. I love how bold and sparkly it is- it really punches up an outfit!
I couldn’t resist adding a bright pink lipstick and some sparkly druzy earrings to this look. I love a small pop of bright pink against a dark outfit and you can never have too much sparkle!
