Valentine’s Day Fashion

valentine's day fashionI love pink. Love it, love it, love it. Pink was my favorite color growing up and then I went through a few years where I wouldn’t be caught dead saying I liked it. But now I love it again. I consider bright pink to be my signature lip color, light pink to be my go-to nail polish color, and I love sneaking any kind of pink into my black and gray winter wardrobe. Needless to say, Valentine’s Day fashion is super easy for me.

valentine's day fashionI have a handful of pink dresses in my closet but I was initially a little wary of this one. Something about the fit just seemed a little off. I had taken G shopping with me and when I expressed my concerns he said, “just get it. Wear it with a cardigan, tights, and a belt.” What? That outfit actually sounded really cute! I ended up getting the dress and now 90% of the time I wear it, it’s with a cardigan, tights, and a belt. Sometimes an outfit just works, no matter how many times you’ve worn it the same way.

jewelry detailsI love to play up the girliness of this dress with pearls, my charm bracelet, and pink lipstick and nail polish. It is a bright pink fit-and-flare dress with a bow on it after all, why not go all out?

braidsWhen I was younger, I loved braids. We had a hair stylist who would do our hair after every cut and I always wanted a braided half-up style with lots of curls. I’m so happy that braids are back in a big way and I loved adding braids and curls to this look.

valentine's day fashionFor me, Valentine’s Day fashion is all about pink! I love adding little romantic details like bows, pleats, pearls, braids, and curls. I like to have fun with my outfits and really go along with all of the holiday details. It is a pretty cheesy holiday after all, why not have fun with it?
