I love holidays that require you to dress up. It’s so fun to play along and wear something with a specific theme. I’ve always loved going all out for Halloween and making sure every detail of my costume was just right but other holidays that call for outfits fitting a general theme can be just as fun. Everyone knows that you have to wear green for St. Patrick’s Day and red, white, and blue for the Fourth of July. It’s nice to see everyone dress a little over the top and have fun with it. Red and pink are perfect for Valentine’s Day and I love adding a little cheesiness with lots of hearts and love-themed accessories. It’s never difficult for me to come up with the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit.
This year, I’m donning one of my brightest pink dresses. I love this silk jacquard dress with its soft pleats, puffed shoulders, and pockets. It’s such a pretty color and it’s great for parties or going out. I like the pintucked detailing at the waist and sleeves and the slightly loose, easy fit makes it really comfortable to wear.
I think this newsprint clutch is so fun but it’s not super practical. Still, I love the pattern and the bow and the heart makes it an obvious choice for my Valentine’s Day outfit. I also added my favorite heart print tights (how cute are they?!). I love any excuse to dress up so that I can wear them!
Of course, I also had to wear matching nail polish and bright pink lipstick. It was hard to narrow down exactly which shades to wear as I have a bit of a pink obsession. I finally decided on a deep berry for my nails and a matte hot pink for my lips. Don’t the colors look perfect with this dress? For jewelry, I layered a heart and love necklace and added some big, blingy stud earrings. I think they were the perfect final touches to my Valentine’s Day outfit.
