Bright blue and black is one of my favorite combinations for winter. Black is so easy to layer and pops of bright cobalt blue make for a fun look. I love how sophisticated and dressy the two colors look together. This Cynthia Steffe dress was the first nice work dress I bought and it’s been one of my best purchases. I love the fun swirly blue print and the pleated details. I really like the slimming illusion with the print in the middle of the dress and black on the sides and the black waistband replaces a belt to create a more finished look. This is one of those dresses that is super easy to transition from work to a night out.
I love to wear this dress with lots of black because I think it really makes the blue print stand out. I tend to mostly wear it in the winter layered over thick tights and with either a sweater layered underneath or a cardigan over the top (sometimes both if it’s particularly chilly out).
I also like to wear this dress with lots of blue accessories. I’m not always fond of matchy-matchy looks but I love sticking to a strictly blue and black color palette when I wear this dress. I have a few chunky blue and silver bracelets that I love to stack and I recently received this Triple Wrap Round Wrist Wrap from Susan Dubow Designs, a Tucson jewelry designer. I love wrap bracelets and I have a gold leather one that I wear all the time so I was excited to try a different one. These Wrist Wraps are custom-made so you can choose the color, how many times it wraps around your wrist, the style of leather, and the slide style you want. You can also pick your size so you can get a more fitted bracelet like I did or a looser one if that’s more your style.
I’m really happy with my bracelet and I’ve already worn it a few times. I chose blue mood leather with twisted slides and I love how it ended up. The bright blue color is so much fun and it matches so many things in my closet. This bracelet is comfortable to wear and it has a strong magnetic closure so it’s easy to put on and it doesn’t fall off throughout the day. And it matches my nail polish perfectly!
Even though I like to only wear blue and black with this Cynthia Steffe dress, I love to pair it with a pink lip. I never use the same color- sometimes it’s baby pink, sometimes it’s hot pink, other times it’s more of a medium pink like this. I don’t know why, I just love that little bit of pink in the middle of all that bright blue and black. This time I also added some loose waves in my hair which I really liked.
