I recently got the chance to try the Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayon in three different shades and I was so excited! I love the ease and convenience of lip crayons and while I usually wear glossy lip colors, lately I’ve been loving how matte shades seem to “pop” a little more. Plus, I love how Bite uses natural and organic ingredients and even the matte shades are designed to be hydrating and creamy. Each lipstick also contains resveratrol, an age-fighting antioxidant that is found in red wine. A lipstick that is good for your lips and looks great? Sign me up!
The Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon also contains orange peel wax to protect lips and seal in moisture. It’s long-wearing and water-resistant so you don’t have to worry about reapplying multiple times throughout the day. I really liked how these felt on my lips. They were creamy and comfortable to wear and the crayon made them easy to apply. They weren’t super matte, they still had a bit of shine to them which I actually liked. The darker colors lasted longer than the lighter ones but I still only had to reapply once during the day.
I got to try three different shades of the Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon: Red Velvet, Cava, and Glace. Red Velvet is a rich, deep red that leans a little cool. I usually prefer brighter, warmer reds but this wasn’t too dark for me. It’s a great fall red, a little darker and perfect for cooler weather. Cava is a lilac beige color that is super popular among people who love nude lip colors. It’s a pretty shade and I love the slightly purple undertones but it didn’t work for me. It was too light and looked slightly grayish on me and really washed me out, but if you love nude shades this would be a unique color to try. Glace is a dusty mauve shade. It’s a darker, more wearable neutral than Cava. Glace is a brownish rose shade with warm undertones. I liked it more than Cava but it still pulled a little too brown on me like a lot of nudes tend to do. Still, I liked the rosey color and I can make it work with certain makeup looks.
I really like the Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayon formula, even if all of the shades I received didn’t work for me. It’s nice to find a matte lip color that isn’t too drying and doesn’t flake off as the day wears on. Instead, these lip crayons are hydrating and creamy and are very comfortable to wear. The Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayons are $24 here, and there’s also a cute set of four for $25 here.
